Tales of Light

Tales of Light
A Memoir of Awakening

Preface

Tales of Light is a collection of firsthand accounts of experiences I had while in the company of the brothers of Endeavor Academy and their Master Teacher, affectionately called “Dear One.”
These experiences took place from 1999-2006.

This is the story of awakening from the split mind—the ordinary way of thinking that believes the world is something outside of us—into the whole-minded awareness that recognizes the world as a reflection of thought itself.

To describe what happened among us is to speak of moments when the world seemed to open—when the ordinary dissolved and another order of reality shone through. These are stories of those openings: flashes of recognition, transmissions of light, and the quiet astonishment of discovering that what we call “spiritual experience” is not apart from daily life but hidden within it.

At first, I thought I was simply attending gatherings, taking classes, meeting friends on the path. Only later did I understand that I had stepped into a field of awakening already in motion—that my simple prayer for help had drawn me into a current of transformation that would change everything.

That tearful, whispered prayer for the Real Answer had risen from a despondency born of not being able to find God. I did not know then that such a small, humble plea would yield far more than my limited self could possibly have imagined.

I share these accounts as both witness and participant—not to preach or persuade, but to remember. If you find echoes of your own journey in these pages, it may be because the Light we meet—whether in mind or in experience—is universally shared. We are that Light: drops in an ocean of radiance, indivisible in our Oneness.

These are the tales of how that Light revealed itself—sometimes gently, sometimes with breathtaking force—and of the life that began when I finally recognized it as my own.
