The Miracle
Heaven, Here, Now…Really?
My overwhelming desire to experience the life that exists below the surface of this world,
to have a visceral and lasting encounter with Oneness…God…the Universal Consciousness, to find that Heaven that is the real world of God’s Kingdom, here and now–
– led me to discover and develop a way of life that involves consistently turning my life, my will, and my mind over to the care of the Infinite, Creative Source of All Being and trusting in
the power of ”the Miracle”.
I am a Baha’i who practices A Course in Miracles. Because of my passion for both of these spiritual paths, I received the somewhat playful designation: “Miracle Baha’i”. Somewhere along the road, I discovered that these two magnificent disciplines go hand in glove and–now –they have merged inside of me into one, inclusive mechanism of Faith . Before encountering the “Course”, I had lived a somewhat less than satisfied life as a practicing Baha’i. I knew the writings and teachings of Baha’u'llah (prophet founder of the Baha’i Faith) were unquestionably true, but I could not reconcile myself to living with a promise of a Heavenly existence that would only come after my departure from this life. That is not was the writings promised. Why, then, did I attempt to content myself with less than the entirety of Baha’u'llah’s assurance that, in renouncing the world and choosing God above all else, I could begin to experience a new heart, a new eye, and a new mind?
“Only when the lamp of search, of earnest striving, of longing desire, of passionate devotion, of fervid love, of rapture, and ecstasy, is kindled within the seeker’s heart, and the breeze of His loving-kindness is wafted upon his soul, will the darkness of error be dispelled, the mists of doubts and misgivings be dissipated, and the lights of knowledge and certitude envelop his being. At that hour will the mystic Herald, bearing the joyful tidings of the Spirit, shine forth from the City of God resplendent as the morn, and, through the trumpet-blast of knowledge, will awaken the heart, the soul, and the spirit from the slumber of negligence. Then will the manifold favours and outpouring grace of the holy and everlasting Spirit confer such new life upon the seeker that he will find himself endowed with a new eye, a new ear, a new heart, and a new mind. He will contemplate the manifest signs of the universe, and will penetrate the hidden mysteries of the soul. Gazing with the eye of God, he will perceive within every atom a door that leadeth him to the stations of absolute certitude. In these pages I explore how that merging came about and why I found practicing A Course in Miracle as a Baha’i the only avenue of spiritual endeavor open to me. This has simultaneously been my delight and my albatross.
I have experienced amazing things and learned astonishing ideas. Of paramount importance: the acceptance of the Atonement for ones’ self, what forgiveness actually means and how to practice miracle-mindedness in all my daily affairs.
If, like me, you yearn for more, for an authentic connection to your Source, if you deeply long to return to your real Self, without a your false, worldly designation and yet, wish to find fulfillment even here, within this world, perhaps my stories and thoughts will be helpful to you. I have opened my personal pathway here in these pages for you to examine and explore.
It is my sincere prayer and highest wish that you find your deepest and innermost fulfillment and that your learning curve to realizing the Kingdom is significantly shortened, by whatever means.
“O SON OF MAN! The light hath shone on thee from the horizon of the sacred Mount and the spirit of enlightenment hath breathed in the Sinai of thy heart. Wherefore, free thyself from the veils of idle fancies and enter into My court, that thou mayest be fit for everlasting life and worthy to meet Me. And now, as always, I cast all things into His loving and all-encompassing Hands.
